Meeting III: The making of a lifesize pinhole photograph

A 6 minute film about my pinhole photography work, filmed and edited by Amy Rose, 2013

MEETING III

2013

Meeting III is a lifesize photographic portrait produced by transforming the artist’s living room into a Camera Obscura. William sits with his partner for 2 hours, the length of time it takes for the image to be exposed.

In his work William is interested in interrogating the photographic process. Using pinhole cameras, paper negatives and as a result long exposures, the  act of posing for a photograph becomes a extended performance in itself.  William turns empty spaces into Camera Obscuras including living rooms,  suitcases and empty eggs, capturing subjects staged in front of them.
