The ReWilders is a collaboration with dance artist Andrew Coombs. They are an ongoing series of photographic portraits created using wild plants and materials found in specific natural environments along the West Cork Coastline.
These portraits celebrate the untamed and uncertain borders between human and plant life, merging organic forms with human features to create uncanny mask-like faces.
Currently the ReWilders are exhibited outdoors as billboards in Skibbereen, West Cork as part of Sign(s) of the Times commissioned by Skibbereen Arts Festival. They speak of ‘rewilding’ our relationship with the so called ‘wild atlantic way’, symbolically bringing the coastal environment back into the heart of Skibbereen.
