Hole Story

2014 – 2018

Hole Story is prize-winning project by William Bock who invited three artists to excavate a historic garden of a property due for demolition.

Over a week they dug a two metre deep, two metre wide hole. The hole itself was then curated and programmed by these four artists, Sophie Mason, Alberto Duman, Mark Morgan and William Bock who became known as Dig Collective. For three months the hole functioned as a community space which hosted artist residencies, public talks, screenings, concerts.  The project started first in East London in 2014 and in 2018 toured to Switzerland for the Art Safiental Biennale for Land and Environmental Art.

The London Hole Story resident artists were

Freya Gabie
Jessica Ackerman
James Tabbush & Alexis Niarchos
